02 Nov 6 Things To Know Before Getting Your Eyebrows Microbladed
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that creates hairlike strokes to fill in sparse or thinning eyebrows. The goal of the practice is to provide you with effortless and full brows, so you won’t need to invest in expensive brow pencils or gels. Investing in a few microblading sessions is much more worthwhile than having to buy makeup products from time to time. Before going in for your microblading procedure, however, there are a couple of things you should know about. Keep reading to learn more about what we have to offer!
1) Microblading is Semi-Permanent for a Reason
Unlike regular body tattooing, which is permanent, cosmetic tattooing has a shorter lifespan. It is much more superficial. In fact, microblading ink is also much more degradable than regular tattoo ink. Your own immune system will naturally digest the ink and push out the pigment, as well. Over time, these looks tend to fade.
Microblading procedures can last up to three years, depending on your skin and lifestyle. Microblading does require touch-ups yearly or bi-yearly. The best thing about microblading is that it helps you to feel more comfortable with your brows.
2) Two Microblading Sessions are Necessary For Most
The average person requires around two sessions in order for the ink to become noticeable and settle. Clients can return for the second session about four weeks after the first session to allow the skin to heal. The four-week time frame is necessary because the skin might push out a bit of ink, this depends on your skin type. In some places, the hair strokes may not look as saturated as you’d like them to be. You can tell if there are minor imperfections that need a fill the second time around, which can be done easily.
3) Microblading Can Take a Few Hours
It can take up to two hours just to outline and draw out the entire brow. The drawing of the brow is the most tedious part and a huge majority of the session. It is much more preferable to allow a technician to take their time as opposed to rushing through a procedure because the latter option tends to produce sloppy results. Cosmetic technicians have to consider what clients are looking for and take facial imbalances into consideration. There is also aftercare to consider, which will undoubtedly add some time to your daily routine. Microblading can be a bit time consuming, but it is so worth it!
4) Eyebrows Are Not Intended to Look Identical
Eyebrows are sisters, not twins. This is very important for people to understand so that no one has unrealistic expectations and so no one ends up unhappy with their eyebrow fix! Absolutely nobody’s eyes are equidistant from the bridge of their nose so the starting points of your eyebrows will definitely be a little different. This also applies to your ocular cavities. One side right above your brow bone is sometimes a little bit more flat or round as opposed to the other side. There’s a lot to account for.
5) Sensations of Microblading
Since it is practically a tattoo on your face, it is not the easiest experience in terms of pain—but it’s definitely not the worst! When you are about to go under the needle, you are given two options: you can dry tattoo or use the help of a numbing agent. A numbing agent will make your skin more vulnerable and more buttery. This numbing agent can make the experience much more comfortable for all clients. All patients might feel some pressure and scratch-like sensations, whether a numbing agent is applied or not.
6) Brows Will Lighten Up After the First Week
If you’re afraid that your brows will look too dark or unnatural after a session of microblading, there’s no need to panic. Your eyebrows will look darker during the healing period, but the ink will not look as dark after this time frame. The first three days are where your eyebrows will look the darkest. By the fourth and fifth days, little scabs will start to fall off and by the seventh and eighth days, you can see the end result underneath the darker coat. Your eyebrows will become fifty to seventy-five percent lighter than how they appeared on day one.
